This is how it works.

Registration

Before creating your first sports-wiki- or blog-entry, you have to register. That’s done very quickly: Just click the [yellow] „Join Now!“-button at the [upper right part] on the main page, choose an username and a password and enter your e-mail address. You’ll promptly receive a confirmation code by e-mail. As soon as you confirmed your registration by following this link, you can get started!

Blog- or wiki-entry?

If you like to share your personal point of view on a certain sports event, it would be the best to open your own blog! Her you will come in touch with other users most rapidly. They can comment on your blog, and you have the opportunity to respond to them when you write your next entry.

If you like to present your own favourite sport or sports club, because there are still too few people that know about it already, or if you want to publish your favourite stars profiles, write a new entry for our wiki (encyclopaedia)! Only with your input will it become the No. 1 source for all sports topics.

Writing a blog

If you decide to have your own sports blog, just click the „My Blog”-button at the top right and get started! About your practice sessions, your favourite squad, your team-mates, your favourite sport or your own team: This is the place for everything sports related. You don’t have to pay attention to any special formats when writing your blog.

Writing a wiki-entry

To get started you should look at already existing entries. Call up an entry and click the “Edit”-button. That’s not an issue – nothing will happen to the entry as long as you don’t click „Save page“. Now you see the entry’s source code in an [orange] coloured description field. The code is written in the so called wiki-language – plain text with simplified markup language. Located right from the description field you find the toolbar, first and foremost probably your primary implement.

Toolbar

The most important functions in the early stages are „Bold text“, „Italic text“, „Internal link“, „External link“, „Level 2 headline“ and „Embedded image“. To adapt these functions to your text, you have to mark the desired passage first. Then, you click the corresponding button, “Italic text”, for example. Later, the marked passage will appear cursively when the article is published.

Bold text

Mark the text passage and click the button, or bracket the text passage with the following command: abc

Italic text

Mark the text passage and click the button, or bracket the text passage with the following command: abc

Internal link

This lets you link to another entry within the sports-wiki.
Mark the text passage and click the button, or bracket the text passage with the following command: abc

External link

This lets you link to an external web page in the internet.
Mark the text passage and click the button, or bracket the text passage with the following command:
Please note: External links should only be placed at the end of the entry.

Level 2 headline

This lets you create headlines within the entry.
Mark the text passage and click the button, or bracket the text passage with the following command: == abc ==

Embedded image

This lets you integrate images and graphics to the entry.
Click the button at the desired text passage, or enter the following command there:

 • The options left, right, center and none adjust images in the text. But keep in mind that images might be displayed divergently when using different web browser.

Example:

 • Descriptions can be added to the images, too.

Example:

 • Thumbnails can be integrated by adding thumb between the file name and the description.

Example:

Before integrating images to your entry, they must have been uploaded to the sports-wiki database first. To do so, choose the button „Upload file“ from the „Toolbox“ and use the form. Please keep in mind that you’re only allowed to upload images that you hold the rights to or that are in public domain. Your images have to be deleted if they infringe somebody’s copyrights.

Overview of formatting functions

As you can see, it is rather easy to edit and format your text. Don’t hesitate to try it! In case you save a wrong formatted text, there is no problem. All past versions of each entry can easily be restored.
